IPv6 The Next Generation Internet Protocol
After a rapid growth of internet expansion for the fast years, the number of available internet protocol address for IPv4 has been completely depleted. But this doesn’t mean that its the end of the internet or what other called the “IPocalypes”.
In The IPV6 news conference at Miami Florida held last February 3 2011. ICANN, along with the Number Resources Organization (NRO), the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), and the Internet Society (ISOC), have been preparing the Internet for the next generation Internet Protocol. IPv6, a new Internet Protocol that has a massive amount of address space , is already taking over as IPv4 runs out. For most users, all it means is that your computer’s IP address today might look like 192.0.2.10, but soon it may resemble 2001:0db8::feed:b766.
“the depletion of the IPv4 Addresses marks an opportunity to shift to an internet protocol that offers a full of available internet protocol addresses, so large that it is difficult to even imagine.” said Rod Beckstorm President CEO ICANN
Most of the latest communication gadgets specially smartphones, uses internet. And time will come that even our home appliances will be using IP address in controlling it.
